Spreading out for miles, dominated by the dramatic Mont-Blanc, the iconic Chamonix valley consistently rates among the top resorts of the world and was the site for the first winter Olympics in 1924. The bustling year-round town of Chamonix is popular for short breaks due to its atmosphere and proximity to Geneva. Die-hard skiers and snowboarders will find though that the best base for them is ARGENTIERE, a rustic village at the base of Les Grands Montets, known for its long, exhilarating black runs and some of the best off-piste skiing in the world.

Other activities

CHAMONIX MONT-BLANC is made up of 12 resorts in the Pays du Mont-Blanc, some of which are only linked by road.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiers can enjoy 42km of trails in Chamonix and Argentiere, split into 11 trails and linked via a black run. Access payable.
